The growing portfolio at LINQ required some uniformity across many different platforms. As the Senior UI Designer, I led the UI team in designing an ADA compliant Design System for use in all of the software acquisitions and new builds. Together, we defined creative processes, designed over 100 components, and built an extensive library of rules and guidelines.

UI

Ensuring our colors were ADA compliant was a key part in the creation of our themes. We also coordinated with developers to make sure our naming conventions were inline with their process and code.

Each component, based on Angular Material, was designed in XD and shared in a library for the UX team to use in their wireframes and with prototyping in mind. We created a hover state, clicked state, and several optional states to show usage, so they could be used for high fidelity prototypes when needed for the Sales team or developers. Every guideline of padding, margins, and color were displayed, so there was no question how they were to be used.

Other cool stuff…

I designed the product brand and icon for each of the LINQ products and got to do t-shirt designs and draw some temporary tattoos for the leadership team.

Hired onto the team at Colyar Technology Solutions as a Senior UI / UX Designer I quickly took on the roles of Graphic Designer & Frontend Developer as well. When I wasn’t working on user flows and wireframes for legacy software, I was creating an entire new brand for Colyar, Cartewheel. I guided brand consistency across digital and physical touch-points, while maturing the company’s identity and design throughout every step of our customer journey, from brochures to user interface development.

Changing the face…

UX | UI | Front End Development

Hired onto the team at Colyar as a UI / UX Designer I quickly took on the roles of Graphic Designer & Frontend Developer as well. When I wasn’t working on wireframes, user flows, or updating the UI for the different software apps, I was creating a new front facing look for Colyar; new website, new office design, business cards & letterhead, sales sheets, etc. Once the Cartewheel Menu Planner software was finished I was instrumental in rebranding and updating the UI for it and the existing Meal Counter app… with plans to roll out new modules of Colyar’s software under the Cartewheel umbrella.

Quality over quantity

Some of the best work got left on the cutting room floor… it happens when you’re surrounded by some of the valley’s most talented designers and producers. It was hard not to be inspired to do better with every pixel I pushed, that being the case, I created some of the Valley’s top ranked websites and helped push Fabcom’s websites to the next level.

The team took home several awards every year and I finally got to some of that recognition when we won an Addy Award for my creative work on the Can You See Me? campaign for The Phoenix Rescue Mission. My creative direction was used for everything from commercials to magazine ads… websites to billboards. That same year, my design for the new Scottsdale flag was chosen as one of two finalists from hundreds of entries. I’m not sure what happened.. but the contest was never finalized and the flag remains the same.

I did some other work while I was there too.

UI | UX | Branding | Animation

Branding startups and rebranding celebrities.

As a member of the elite Dream Design Team for GoDaddy, I created full identity packages, including custom branded websites, from startups to Nascar drivers. Flash was a big deal (and very cutting edge at the time) and my animation skills were put to use! I was honored to be able to design and develop Bob & Renee Parsons’ wedding announcement and RSVP site as well as the Candice Michelle site, both using ActionScript 2, HTML, and CSS.

UI | UX | Branding | Animation

I was on the elite Dream Design Team for GoDaddy for a little over 5 years. We created full identity packages, including custom branded websites, for GoDaddy customers and some pretty famous people.

Flash was a big deal (and very cutting edge back then) and my animation skills were put to use! I created the Bob & Renee Parsons wedding announcement and RSVP site as well as the Candice Michelle site both in Flash using Action Script 2, HTML, and CSS. There aren’t any live links any more because… well.. Flash is no longer supported.

Graphic Design | Creative Direction

Creating nationwide brand awareness.

As Lead Designer and Creative Director I was responsible for all corporate initiatives, including but not limited to; brochures, presentation folders, in-store advertisements & signage/banners. This included the look and feel for all of the stores throughout the United States; wallpaper, window decals, vehicle wrap, screensavers for in-store computers, etc. I also worked with printers & advertisers to ensure high quality & corporate standards were met by all franchisees and their advertisers.
